Dr. Tim Walker grew up in the small town of Blossom in Northeast Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in History and English from East Texas State University (now Texas A & M at Commerce), a Masters of Theology from Asbury Theological Seminary where he served as student body Chaplain, and a Doctor of Ministry from Fuller Theological Seminary. He and his wife Karen have two adult sons and a 12-year old grandson. Karen is currently a Spanish teacher at Midland Freshman High School.
The author of five books, including a congregational-wide Bible reading program called, "Through the New Testament," Dr. Walker enjoys a strong preaching and teaching ministry as well as spiritual leadership and presence in the community.

Rev. John R. Rech serves as one of the Associate Pastors of our church. He and his wife Lindy have four children, Justin, Karli, Candice and Michael. He is a graduate of Texas Tech University with a B.B.A in Marketing, a graduate of Asbury Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Religion and Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University with a Master of Divinity. John was ordained in 1991 as Deacon and an Elder in 1998 in the Northwest Texas Annual Conference. He has served several churches in the Northwest Texas and North Texas Conferences.
John provides leadership in preaching and worship. He oversees the ministry and ministry teams of the Contemporary worship service. He is the staff member who relates the Outreach Committee and its ministry teams. Some of his other responsibilities include general pastoral care, hospital and rehab visitation, funerals, weddings and counseling.

Macky Pitts is a Licensed Local Pastor serving part time as Associate Pastor on staff. Her duties include visitation, Care Ministry, Women of Worship, Stephen Ministry, Marriage classes and currently she coordinates the Wednesday's at First activities. Macky has been on staff since July 2007. She is attending Course of Study through Perkins Theological seminary. Macky is married to John Pitts and has two adult sons and one four year old grandson. John and Macky have been members of First United Methodist Church, Midland, for 14 years.
Prior to becoming a licensed local pastor Macky worked as the office manager for 12 years with her husband in the insurance business. Before that she served as the Program Coordinator for First United Methodist Church in Kerrville, TX.

Jay Gage brings nearly 20 years of youth ministry experience to First United Methodist Church. Jay is a Licensed Local Pastor who is pursuing his Masters of Divinity degree through Asbury Theological Seminary. Jay is married to Becky and they have three beautiful children, Coltan, Hannah, and Brylie. "I believe it is my job as a youth minister to help the teenagers of our church and of Midland to make the faith their own at some point in their journey as teenagers. My goal is to help the families in our ministries raise young men and women who will be passionate about their faith and who will seek to become the men and women God created them to be." Jay has a bachelor's degree in Education and served as an English teacher and coach for 8 years in addition to youth ministry. He also has served as a counselor to at-risk youth and families.
