At First United Methodist Church you'll find worship that welcomes you. You won't feel like an outsider. We'll walk you through each part of the service. You're welcome to participate or simply observe. Our worship will encourage you and leave you refreshed.

Our Traditional Sunday Services are at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m. in the Sanctuary.  These services feature traditional worship with a choir and one of the finest pipe organs in West Texas. You'll enjoy the blend of music in our traditional services which may include African-American spirituals one week, contemporary music another, and Bach or Handel the next.

Our Contemporary Service is at 10:45 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. This service features high-energy contemporary music with a twist. A vocal and instrumental band leads the people in singing and includes the words on a visually enhanced screen. The message includes drama and video clips that illustrate the theme of the day. If you like worship that is more casual than that in the traditional sanctuary services come and visit this service.

Worship Ministries

W.O.W - Women of Worship is a new worship experience the first Friday of each month. Designed for the needs and tastes of women, the worship style blends new with old, and the feeling is casual and dynamic. You'll find an opportunity to fellowship around refreshments served following each service. This service is held in our Fellowship Hall.
Professional child care is available for all worship services. Deliver your young children to our staff in the Children's department near the church office area.

Music Ministry

Imagine! Worship is offered weekly as part of Wednesday @ First, an ongoing program that begins with a 5 p.m. meal in the Fellowship Hall followed by learning opportunities for children, youth and adults.
This service is led by Dr. Tim Walker, Senior Pastor, and open to the community and designed for those who want a mid-week spiritual lift. It takes place in our  Glass Chapel (entrance at Main at Illinois) and is offered throughout the school year following the MISD calendar.
