Director of Children's Ministries

Donna Bell Fields is Director of Children’s Ministries. Donna is married to Randy and they have two sons, Sam (age 11) and Andrew (age 8). The Fields family moved to Midland in 1995 and have been active members of First United Methodist Church since 1996.

Donna has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics Education and Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Human Development from Texas Tech University. Donna has worked in the field of Child Development in various capacities: as a preschool teacher, a child care administrator, administrator of social services program, a children’s Sunday School teacher and choir director and as an adjunct faculty member at Texas Tech University, Odessa College and Midland College.

Donna’s job includes overseeing children’s Sunday School programs and children’s Wednesday Night Live activities, confirmation classes, welcoming new babies, and working with Children’s Council to plan other special programs and events for children and their families throughout the year.
Dr. Tom Vozzela

Dr. Thomas Vozzella, D.M.A. 
Director of Music Ministries
Dollye Neal Worship Arts Academy Headmaster

Dr. Thomas R. Vozzella, is the Director of Music Ministries and Headmaster of the newly formed Dollye Neal Worship Arts Academy at First United Methodist Church, Midland, Texas. He has taught at institutions of higher education in Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, and Kansas. In addition to his teaching positions, he has served as a Music Director/Organist in Massachusetts, Kansas, Missouri, Florida, Arkansas, Tennessee, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana for the last twenty-seven years. Choirs under his direction have received superior ratings and have received invitations and/or performed in Taiwan, Italy, for the Kansas Music Educators Association and on programs of the American Choral Directors Association. During his tenure at First United Methodist Church, El Dorado, Arkansas, the adult and youth choirs were heard on NPR's Performance Today. Additionally, he has performed on the BBC, on NBC for the national broadcast service celebrating the release of American hostages in Iran (1981), for Pope John Paul II, Ronald Reagan, and the infamous Ted "Teddy" Kennedy.

He received the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of South Carolina, the Master of music degree from Northeast Louisiana University (University of Louisiana, Monroe), and the Bachelor of Music degree from Eastern Nazarene College.  Additional work was completed at Nazarene Theological Seminary, The University of Missouri, Kansas City Conservatory of Music and the Royal School of Church Music, Croydon, England. He has frequently appeared as a conductor in the US, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, and England. He is also an active member in the American Choral Director's Association, Texas Choral Directors Association, American Guild of Organists, Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts, Association of Anglican Musicians, National Association for Music Education (MENC), and the Texas Music Educators Association. Alliance, Augsburg, Abingdon, Selah, and CanticaNOVA music publishers publish his compositions and arrangements. He has also served as a choral judge/clinician in Louisiana, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Texas.

Dr. Vozzella is married to Cathy, who serves as Music Ministry Administrative Assistant/Handbell Director, and they have one daughter. Cathy and Tom, as he prefers to be called, have been active in music ministry together since they began dating in Kansas City in the mid 80's. 


Misty Brumfield
 
Executive Assistant to Dr. Tim Walker

Misty moved to Midland in September 2006. She's been a staff member of First United Methodist Church since September 2007. Her job responsibilites include assisting Dr. Walker in his day-to-day activites, appointments and schedules.

Lew Dingman

Director of Operations/Human Resources

Lew is retired from Medical Center Hospital in Odessa where he served as Director of Telecommunications.  Lew is married to Barbara, who has been in his life since the age of 6.  He has four children and 3 grandchildren.  Lew has degrees in Education / Education Administration from Texas Christian University.  He has served on staff of First United Methodist since June of 2005.

Jana Huff
 
Director of Communications

Jana Huff is Director of Communications. Jana is married to Warren. Jana moved to Midland when she married Warren in 2002.

Jana has earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration majoring in Marketing and a Master's Degree in Business (MBA) specializing in Management from Wayland Baptist University.

Lynda Johnson
 
Director of Finance 

Lynda has lived in Midland for 30 years and has been a church member for 29. She has been on staff for 20+ years and is responsible for the Finance and Accounting Department.

Cathy Vozzella
 

Music Ministry Assistant/Handbell Director
Dollye Neal Worship Arts Academy Registrar

Cathy moved to Midland in March 2006 and immediately joined the church and the choir. She’s been a staff member of First United Methodist Church since May 2006 and her job responsibilities include directing the adult handbell choir and assisting the Music Director, Dr. Tom Vozzella.

Deborah Wilson

Administrative Assistant to Youth 
& Children's Departments & Membership Secretary

Deborah moved to Midland in 2005 from Sacramento, California. Deborah started attending church in 2001 after many years away from Christ and is now a member of First United Methodist Church. Deborah's daughter and family are also members at First United Methodist.

Deborah has earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Communication from California State Univerisity in Sacramento, California.

Gaby is attending Midland College to earn an Associate's degree in Mass Communications. She is the  mother of three children, two girls, ages 9 and 11 and one boy age 7.
